Energy Absorber

The Energy Absorber consists of a special white inner polyamide core which absorbs the arresting forces in the event of a fall. The coloured webbing serves as a back up. The clear protective covering helps in easy and fast visual inspection.

SECURE FIRST Nano Energy Absorber SFEA-3000 is made up of 30mm wide webbing and is shrink wrapped. It reduces the impact of fall to less than 6kN, and as per EN 355:2002. These are compact in size & light weight.

HOW DOES THE ENERGY ABSORBER WORK

SECURE FIRST Energy Absorbers are designed to be incorporated in fall arrest or travel restraint system.

When a fall occurs, the sudden stop caused by the fall arrest system submits the human body to a high impact force (the longer the free fall distance, the higher the force).

The purpose of the Energy Absorber is to lower the impact force experienced in a fall by dissipating the Kinetic Energy and controlling deceleration. The Energy Absorbing device is made of a specially woven Tear Webbing that elongates through on its weave and stitching. This action limits the impact force to less than 900lbs. (4kN).

We can therefore imagine that if this Energy Absorber is absent from a fall protection system, the forces which are felt on the body of the worker can be very high and result in injury.
